Snohomish County, east of the Olympic Mountains and west of the Cascade Mountains, is located between Skagit County to the north and King county (and Seattle) to the south. Covering 2090 square miles, it is one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Washington, charting a 30% growth rate since 1990 with a 2004 population of 649,856.
