John Shaw

John Shaw is the Managing Director of Portfolio Management for OliverMcMillan. John joined the company in January 2007 and is responsible for portfolio, asset, and property management for all owned and managed property.

Prior to joining OliverMcMillan, John was the Director of Real Estate Investments and Portfolio Manager for Farmers Insurance Group of Companies real estate investment portfolio in the United States; he was based in Westlake Village, CA. He had responsibility for the direct real estate investment activities of the group including the direct private equity and commercial mortgage loan portfolios. Before joining Farmers, John was a Manager in Corporate Finance at General Electric Capital Corporation and a co-founder and Executive Vice President of a mortgage banking company based in Newport Beach, CA. After joining Farmers in 1994, John was appointed an officer in 2000.

John is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA in Finance and the University of California at Davis with a BA in Economics. John’s professional affiliations have included membership in the CFA Institute, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). John is a member of the Board of Directors of the Downtown San Diego Partnership.
