| RETAILERS CAUTIOUS AND PAUSE TO PLAN THE FUTURE
Lindenhurst Village Green continues to receive significant interest from retailers despite the overall slowing of retail sales and expansions throughout the nation.
The planning and design processes for the project are advancing; however, the project timeline has been extended to accommodate time for overall economic recovery. The plan is to begin construction as soon as renewed expansion of retail store chains occur such that Lindenhurst Village Green can be "The Special Place" in which OliverMcMillan's is known for.
BEAUTIFUL IN ANY SEASON
The community of Lindenhurst is located in Lake County, in Northeastern
Illinois. Beautiful in any season, the community of Lindenhurst
is recognized for its natural beauty, sensitivity to open space
and preservation of its wetlands, forests and landscapes. It has become
a growing affluent suburb of Chicago now home to middle and upper-middle
income households and families that have moved north for better homes, schools
and community. As such, their demand for retail goods and services has outpaced
existing regional center’s ability to provide adequately for
their tastes and preferences.
This serene, yet burgeoning Chicago area suburb will soon have a place
to call home for its many residents, the new 52-acre Lindenhurst Village
Green®. Set amidst a larger 190-acre mixed-use urban village planned
for 838 residential units, this 461,000 square foot open-air lifestyle
center will be connected to the community by scenic walking trails
and open space throughout, incorporating the site’s natural characteristics
and preserved wetlands. Surrounding shoppers will enjoy it’s
ease of accessibility made available by its location along Route
45 and W. Grand Ave. (Route 132) which are only minutes west of the I-94,
the Tri-State Tollway.
Lindenhurst Village Green’s primary trade area residents sophisticated
shopping preferences are derived from their experiences of living closer
to many of Chicago’s famed retail destinations and now having
matured and achieved success in life, enabling them as lifestyle segment
shoppers. High levels of education and income, and white-collar employment
are key profiles that support many tenants’ criteria for success
in a new market; Lindenhurst’s market area residents have these
characteristics and anxiously await the opening of Lindenhurst Village
Green.
