Fifth+Broadway Groundbreaking

The backers of Fifth + Broadway, the big mixed-use project that will rise on the site of the former Nashville Convention Center, recently hosted a formal groundbreaking ceremony that started at Bridgestone Arena, where more than 200 people gathered. Development partners Pat Emery of Spectrum | Emery and Dene Oliver of OliverMcMillan spoke to the attendees, as did Mayor Megan Barry, Henry Hicks of the National Museum of African American Music and Tom Turner of the Nashville Downtown Partnership.

Demolition of the buildings at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway is scheduled to take place in May. Plans for Fifth + Broadway call for 235,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, 385,000 square feet of Class A office, more than 350 apartments and more than 2,000 parking spaces.
