First Look: Flywheel Opens New Location at the Shops of Buckhead
Atlanta Business Chronicle
Cycling studio Flywheel Sports on Monday opened its third metro Atlanta location at The Shops of Buckhead.
The Buckhead location is more than 5,500 square feet and features more than 60 high-tech bikes and 20 FlyBarre mats. It sports the chain’s new logo and brand imagery. When riders enter the stadium, the tech pack (a small computer affixed to every bike in the stadium) will greet them by their first name. The stadium will also feature special LED lighting that can be managed by instructors, allowing them to play with the color of the lights throughout the ride.
“When selecting a location for a new studio space, our team does a great deal of research,” said co-founder and Creative Director Ruth Zukerman. “We seek markets that not only embrace boutique fitness and a healthy lifestyle but also regions that have a united sense of community. We knew Buckhead fit the bill – it was exciting, as it always is, to introduce the residents to a form of exercise that was unique.”
Flywheel has built a strong international following among professionals and celebrities since it launched its concept in 2010. It was founded by a group of impassioned cyclists, including well-known instructor Zukerman, who has been widely credited as the driving force behind the indoor cycling phenomenon.
It also has locations in London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, and Dubai, among other cities.
