Michael Strahan Cohosts Equinox's VIP Dinner
Some 130 guests with holiday cheer and fitness on their minds recently turned out for the VIP dinner to celebrate the opening of the new Equinoxfitness club at River Oaks District. The special event was held at The Dunlavy, a swanky new event and dining space overlooking Allen Parkway.
As cocktails flowed and house music provided by DJ Paul Paredes set the mood, guests mingled with Equinox president Sarah Robb O'Hagan, as well as regional and local Equinox staff, beneath The Dunlavy's shimmering chandeliers. The dinner was hosted by Equinox's CEO Harvey Spevak and NFL legend and native Houstonian Michael Strahan, who had just arrived from a personal appearance at Barnes & Noble River Oaks to promote his new book, "Wake Up Happy."
Few could resist snapping a photo with the football legend and co-host of ABC's "Live With Kelly and Michael."
Guests sat down to elegant tables with personalized linens embroidered with their initials. The dinner was presented byClark Cooper Concepts and included entrees of tender filet mignon, pesce en cartoccio and braised lamb shank, complemented by an open bar and attentive wait staff.
In the crowd were Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing and his wife Megan Cushing, former Texans offensive lineman and sportscaster Chester Pitts, Wade and Rita Davis, Houston Super Bowl Host Committee Chairman Ric and wife Mo Campo with President and CEO Sallie Sargent, Becca Cason Thrash, Carolyn Farb, and Lee and Faith Majors.
Guests also received a signed copy of Strahan's book, a complementary one-month membership to Equinox River Oaks, Kiehl's beauty products and lululemon accessories.
