VIP Dinner Celebrates Dolce & Gabbana Opening
Just three months on the job, Dolce & Gabbana president Tina Bhojwanivisited Houston's new River Oaks District store to meet some of the city's top customers Wednesday evening for its grand-opening night. She gushed how Houston women brought out such style and grace, and their fashion statements carried well into the night at a VIP dinner at the home of Becca Cason Thrash and John Thrash.
There, guests were greeted with a lavish dessert table, complete with pink and red flowers that extended the length of the dining room. Bhojwani and her team, who had been at the store earlier and were only in town for the day, mingled with guests and admired the elegant decor. Others guests congregated in the bar area, then helped themselves to the decadent buffet, which featured seafood pasta, lasagna, grilled vegetables and more.
Table talk covered everything from Dolce & Gabbana's celebrity clients, like David Oyelowo, who wore a red tux for the Oscars in February, to holiday plans. Bhojwani, who formerly was an executive with Theory, said she'll likely spend the holidays with family in Alabama, where she went to high school. "It's beautiful there," she said.
