Planet Blue to Open First Hawaii Store, Second Texas Shop
Luxe bohemian retailer Planet Blue is gearing up to open two stores — one in Hawaii and another in Houston — on Nov. 12.
The Hawaii store will be located in Oahu's Ala Moana Center, and the Houston shop, Planet Blue's second in Texas, will be located in the new River Oaks District development.
The opening of the 2,000-square-foot store in Hawaii is particularly special for Planet Blue because the shop is located in founder Ling-Su Chinn's hometown. The store will carry brands like Blue Life, For Love and Lemons, Jen's Pirate Booty, Acacia and Indah.
"Hawaii was the natural next step for Planet Blue because it's home. The brand embodies the local girl's eternal aloha spirit. It is such an honor to open our store in the esteemed Ala Moana Center, as it's the epitome of coming full circle for Ling and the brand. We love the mana of the island, the adventurous heart of its people and the value it places on community," David Lindell, vice president of retail, said in a press release.
The Houston store, a 3,2000-square-foot space, will also house Blue Life, For Love and Lemons and Jen's Pirate Booty, as well as Stone Cold Fox, Wildfoxand Minnie Rose among others.
"The Houston customer has a fresh perspective we deeply appreciate. We admire the level of sophistication and refinement they bring to Planet Blue's boho style. In addition, Houston has been our top market for years, so opening a store was the natural next step," Lindell said.
