iPic, Houston's Newest Luxury Movie Theater, Opens its Doors in the River Oaks District
This week Houstonians got a first look at the iPic movie theater in the tonyRiver Oaks District. The theater, surrounded by upscale shops like Hermes, Dior, and Cartier, is aiming to be the most lavish movie watching experience in Houston.
The official opening isn’t until next Friday, Nov.6, but it’s currently in its soft opening phase. Last night members of the Houston media got a chance to check out the eight-screen iPic movie house for themselves for a showing of this past summer’s dinosaur blockbuster “Jurassic World” starring Chris Pratt.
This is the Florida-based chain’s third Texas location, following theaters Austin and Fairview in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. A fourth Texas theater, coming soon to Irving, is currently being constructed.
Houston’s location is iPic’s twelfth since opening its first in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2010.
The chain offers up a membership program which rewards frequent moviegoers.
