Christian Dior Opens at River Oaks District
The red carpet continues to roll out at The River Oaks District with more luxury boutiques opening doors. The latest: Christian Dior.
The chic store recently hosted an opening party to showcase the two-story boutique, which is inspired by the original concept of the Paris Avenue Montaigne Flagship boutique designed by Peter Marino.
It's made up of four salons on the first floor devoted to Dior's products, from leather goods and fine jewelry to ready-to-wear, luxury handbags and shoes. The second floor features an exclusive VIP salon for private appointments.
The art is as much a part of the decor as the fashion. Dior commissioned several contemporary artists to design works for the boutique that reflect the Dior aesthetic and include Rob Wynne mirrored glass dots installation on mirrored walls and Philippe Montels chain curtains located in the shoe salon. Laurent Chauvat end tables and Stefano Leo "Annette" & "Giacco II" console tables are in the VIP salon and ready-to-wear salon respectively. Also, a Franck Evennou mirror installation is positioned above the antique fireplace in the ready-to-wear salon.
The River Oaks District continues to celebrate its recent opening. Tonight, Tom Ford opens with a VIP party.
