Houston Lands Upscale H&M Concept Shop, Only One of Seven in U.S.
The more sophisticated sister store to Sweden-based H&M will open its seventh and largest U.S. location in Houston's upcoming River Oaks District.
Collection of Style, known as COS, will occupy a 4,380-square-foot store in the long-awaited luxury shopping center on Westheimer Road, according to a release from COS.
The line, launched in London in 2007, is one of six brands that comprise the H&M Group. The company opened additional stores in New York City and California this year, as well as the the first COS store in Boston.
The Houston store will feature men's and women's clothing made from fine fabrics for affordable prices, with many items costing less than $100. The design of the new store is expected to use natural materials and minimal features, as the company has implemented in its other locations.
Construction began at The River Oaks District in the summer of 2013, and it's expected to open Oct. 1. The center will include other high-end stores like Dior, Hermès and Tom Ford. However, the 6,000-square-foot Cartier store was recently announced to be opening one month early.
Meanwhile, H&M has announced plans to open its fifth Houston store at CityCenter next month and its sixth in Pearland Town Center later this fall.
