Cartier Set to Open in River Oaks
Just in time for fall shopping, Cartier plans to open its new boutique at River Oaks District shopping center on Sept. 3. At that time, it'll close its temporary location at Post Oak Blvd where Cartier has been since May 2014.
The River Oaks boutique was designed in-house reflecting the aesthetic of architect Bruno Moinard's concepts at Cartier boutiques worldwide and its executed by Gensler Architecture. It'll encompass 6,060 square feet with 4,580 square feet of selling space.
"Cartier has had a presence in Houston for 36 years and we're excited to open our new boutique within the premier shopping destination, River Oaks District, says Mercedes Abramo, President & CEO of Cartier North America. "We believe in Houston as an important, dynamic and ever-evolving market and we are looking forward to welcoming familiar friends and new clients into our home."
In May, Chronicle's Nancy Sarnoff announce four of the world's top luxury retailers - Cartier, Dior, Hermes and Tom Ford - plan to open stores in River Oaks District, the newest mixed-use real estate development focusing on luxury brands and high-end design. It's located along Westheimer just inside the West Loop.
Hermes and Dior will have large stores in two-story buildings, with 10,117 square feet and 9,056 square feet, respectively. Cartier's store will be 6,040 square feet, and Tom Ford will occupy 4,906 square feet.
Tom Ford is new to Houston and Dior used to be in the Galleria but closed its store there.
