The Age of Adler
Modern Luxury: Jezebel
Jonathan Adler may have shuttered his Westside Provisions outpost in late 2014, but it wasn’t long before the potter-turned-purveyor of “happy chic” found a fresh Atlanta home for his famous high-octane hues and preppy-mod motifs. Setting his sights on more glamorous environs, the guru recently debuted a noticeably larger Peachtree-fronting space at Buckhead Atlanta—where he himself was a fixture at the opening fete. Adler’s offbeat charms were rivaled only by the fabulousness of his 28th store’s living room-inspired vignettes, which made visitors feel as if they were slinking into a (superfashionable!) friend’s home. Imagine a 360-degree explosion of bold wallpapers, full-scale furnishings, rugs, lighting, accessories and all the little extras you could dream of (those yummy-scented candles make perfect party gifts!). So let’s say, just for the sake of it, that you don’t find something you love. This store will customize rugs, pillows, throw blankets, even chairs to your stylish specifications—seriously! And should you feel a little lost when decorating, JA’s new design center is here to save the day—whether you’re trying to pick out a housewarming trinket, feeling flummoxed about bookshelf styling or just want someone to trick out your whole condo. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to immerse themselves in Adler’s wacky, wonderful world? If you’re more of a clothes horse, scope out Adler’s new socks for United Legwear and chic specs for REM Eyewear. The special acetate glasses and sunnies, which run from $58 to $128 apiece, should be the perfect thing to frame the view.
