River Oaks District, which is expected to open this fall, will include 252,000 square feet of high-end shops, restaurants and entertainment on 14 acres at 4444 Westheimer Road in the Galleria area. There will also be 92,000 square feet of office space and 279 apartment units.
Houston-based wealth management firm U.S. Capital Advisors LLC will relocate its main Houston office to occupy the top one and a half floors of the office space and take signage rights on the Westheimer-fronting building. The company will move into its new space in November.
Tenants for the high-end shopping district include Hermes, Dior, Cartier, Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford. Restaurants include Steak 44 (a high-end Phoenix-based steakhouse), American Food and Beverage (upscale American), Le Colonial (French-Vietnamese), Taverna (Italian), Thirteen Pies (artisan pizza and pasta) and Toulouse Cafe and Bar (French-Belgian).
Additionally, New York-based luxury fitness chain Equinox plans to occupy nearly 35,000 square feet on two floors. It will offer a wide variety of fitness, nutrition and health classes and include a full-service spa. The development will also include an innovative parking and valet system.
San Diego-based OliverMcMillan is developing the project. San Francisco-based Gensler is the architect. Dallas-based VCC is the general contractor. Chicago-based Hoerr Schaudt is the landscape architect.
