French Bistro Le Bilboquet Opens in Buckhead Today
Creative Loafing Atlanta

The only free-standing restaurant planned for the new Buckhead Atlanta development, French bistro Le Bilboquet, opens today. Executive chef Julien Jouhannaud, who worked under Michelin star chef Alain Ducasse, will oversee the "culinary direction" of the restaurant, while Jean Louis Sangare will be its acting chef de cuisine. Sangare has been with the original Le Bilboquet in New York for 15 years.

Guests can expect classic bistro fare with the same approachable classics from its NYC menu. Signature dishes include a crab and guacamole salad, steak au poivre, salmon tartare, and Cajun chicken. Shoppers can pull up to the traditional pewter bar for a draft beer and a croque monsieur.

Le Bilboquet is located at 3035 Peachtree Road N.E. and will be open daily for dinner from 5-10:30 p.m. and till 11 p.m. on weekends. Lunch service is slated to start in early December and will be run from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. There will also be an abbreviated cafe menu available between lunch and dinner.

With a chic Parisienne atmosphere with floor-length windows, woven rattan chairs, and vintage brass light fixtures, Le Bilboquet will bring a slice of French cafe culture to the upscale retail and dining development. There will be a rotating collection of paintings and photographs from local and national artists on the walls, many of which will also be available for purchase.

Atlanta general manager Jon Skinner said in a release:

Atlanta should brace itself for a true experience of French cooking and Parisian café culture at Le Bilboquet ... I’m honored to be a part of bringing this restaurant to the city and look forward to ensuring guests receive an authentic and welcoming dining experience.
